چکیده

Abstract Introduction There is scant data on the role of hyperuricaemia, gout and allopurinol treatment in chronic kidney disease (CKD). Therefore, our aim to investigate possible associations between gout, prescription renal outcomes patients with CKD. Methods The retrospective cohort study involved 1123 Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital (RBWH) patients, enrolled CKD.QLD registry from May 2011 August 2017. Patients were divided into two uric acid categories, ≤ 0.36 mmol/L > mmol/L. Association delta estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) hyperuricaemia analysed. Results an entry urate older, had higher body mass index (BMI) worse baseline function. Proportion increased advanced CKD stages. Age-adjusted analysis revealed a significant association serum level eGFR, no eGFR. Furthermore, neither nor effect time death (composite end point replacement therapy or death). Conclusion Hyperuricaemia seemed be independently associated faster progression death. This was not observed allopurinol. decreased incidence cardiovascular events. These suggest that likely cause progression. Graphic abstract

Hyperuricaemia and gout.

Gout is increasing in prevalence throughout the world, particularly in developed countries. The causes are dietary--purine-rich foods, high saturated fats, fructose-containing drinks and alcohol. Gout is also drug-related and associated with increased obesity, hypertension, insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. Although very readily treated, there is evidence that physicians fail to optimi...

Comparative trial of azapropazone and indomethacin plus allopurinol in acute gout and hyperuricaemia.

This study compared the effects of azapropazone and indomethacin plus allopurinol in the management of acute gout and hyperuricaemia. A group of 93 patients predominantly based in general practice were randomly allocated to the two treatment regimens (azapropazone (days 1-225) or indomethacin (1-28) followed by allopurinol (29-225)) on a double-blind double dummy basis. Azapropazone produced a ...

Total fasting, hyperuricaemia and gout.

The purpose of this communication is to draw attention to the apparently harmless hyperuricaemia which results from treating obese patients by total fasting. In such patients there is a progressive fall in the glomerular filtration rate during the fasting period resulting in the renal retention of urate (Murphy & Shipman, 1964). In addition there is competition between the ketone bodies and ura...

Sulphobromophthalein retention in gout and asymptomatic hyperuricaemia.

Methods BSP excretion tests were performed on 73 patients with gout (defined as recurrent acute arthritis associated with an elevated serum uric acid level),* sixteen patients with asymptomatic hyperuricaemia not due to renal failure, and thirty control subjects who were either hospital patients (none of whom had known liver disease, gout, or hyperuricaemia) or healthy volunteers. The details o...
